Dr Blum has been in practice adjacent to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital since 1977. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and American Board of Clinical Lipidology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the National Lipid Association.His primary focus is on prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
In addition to his focus on cardiovascular disease treatment and prevention, Dr Blum maintains a keen interest in inherited Breast and ovarian Cancer syndromes. Testing for BRCA1 and BRCA2 is available in the office and counseling with regard to disease prevention options in BRCA positive individuals can be arranged with Dr Blum.

Dr Blum is now the area's only Clinical Lipidologist, certified by the American Board of Clinical Lipidology. This relatively new specialty provides advanced care of cholesterol and lipid disorders designed to prevent heart disease and meet lipid goals for patients at increased risk for cardiovascular diseases. Advanced lipid testing can be ordered through several local laboratories.
